About Tours

  • How many people can make a tour reservation?
    Is it possible for just one person?
    Can children join the tour?

    We accept tour reservations from 1 person up to a group of 9. Children are welcome to join the tours, so please include them in your reservation count.

  • Can I only visit the shop?

    Distillery Shop, Rita's Kitchen, and the Nikka Museum are available to all guests.
    However, the entrance will differ from those participating in the guided tours.

  • Are the distillery tours free?

    Distillery tours are free of charge. We also have exclusive seminars for a fee.

  • Can I drink whisky?

    Those who participate in the tour can taste up to 3 types of whisky per person. The restaurant and museum's tasting bar (paid) can be used without reservation.

  • Can I take photos or videos during the tour?

    You are free to take photos. However, we ask you to refrain from video recording and audio recording during the tour.

  • When are you closed?

    We are open throughout the year except for New Year holidays and maintenance days. For details, please check the distillery's website or contact the distillery directly.

  • Can I bring a stroller on the tour?
    Can I take the tour in a wheelchair?

    Yes. However we do not recommend visiting during winter season due to snow which may result in accidents.

  • Can I take multiple tours on the same day?

    The tour is limited to once a day per person.

  • Do you offer tours in English?

    The distillery tours are conducted only in Japanese.

  • Can deaf people take the tour?

    Yes, tours are available. Please make reservations by email as there are matters we need to confirm and inform you about in advance.

About Reservations

  • Do I need to make a reservation for a distillery tour?
    Can I take a tour without a reservation?
    Can I make a same-day reservation?

    We request that you make reservations in advance. We accept reservations by internet or telephone.
    Capacity for the tour reservation: 1 to 9 people
    If there are openings on the day, we may be able to accommodate you. Please call the distillery.
    Facilities that are accessible without a reservation are the Nikka Museum, restaurant, and shop.

  • What is the reservation window?

    We accept reservations up to 4 weeks in advance.

  • There is only one spot available, is it possible to make a reservation for two?

    Due to limited capacity, reservations cannot be made unless there is a cancellation.

  • What should I do to change the number of people or to cancel?
    When is the deadline for cancellations?

    Changes and cancellations can be made online until 12:00 noon the day before. We also accept cancellations by phone.
    For same-day changes or cancellations, please call the distillery directly.
    *For lunch courses starting at 12:00 and other paid seminars, please notify us of cancellations by 12:00 noon the day before. Please note that cancellation fees may apply for same-day cancellations.

  • How do I change or cancel an internet reservation?

    Changes can be made using the reservation change/cancellation button at the top of the reservation page. Please follow the screen instructions to make changes.
    You will need the "reservation number" and "password" provided on the reservation completion screen and in the confirmation email.
    If you don't know your "reservation number" and "password," we can help you by phone.

  • What are your phone reception hours?

    9:00 to 16:15

  • Is there a waiting list?

    We do not have on the day waitlist. Availability due to cancellations will be updated on the reservation calendars.

About Visiting

  • Is parking available?
    Is bicycle parking available?

    Yes. Please check the "How to Visit" page of the distillery for details.
    Please note that those who are driving vehicles, bicycles, those under 20 years old, and pregnant or nursing mothers cannot sample alcoholic beverages. Soft drinks are available.

  • Is there a shuttle bus?

    Unfortunately we do not operate a shuttle bus.

  • Is there a place to store luggage?

    Lockers at the distillery are available for 100 yen.
    (Will be refunded)
    However, the number of lockers is limited, so please ask the receptionist if all lockers are in use.

  • Is there a smoking area?

    The entire premises is non-smoking.

  • Can I bring pets?

    As this is a production facility, we ask you to refrain from bringing pets for hygiene reasons. However, this does not apply to assistance dogs.

  • Can I bring lunch boxes or snacks?

    As this is a production facility, we ask you to refrain from bringing food items for hygiene reasons.

  • Are there dining facilities?

    We have a restaurant "Rita's Kitchen" on site.

  • Do you sell Nikka-produced alcohol and distillery-exclusive products in the shop?
    Can I call to check on product availability for the day?

    The shop sells major spirits produced by Nikka and several distillery-exclusive products. However, due to limited production quantities and irregular delivery schedules, some items may be out of stock. We apologize that we cannot provide information about stock availability.
