About Tours

  • How many people can make a tour reservation?
    Is it possible for just one person?
    Can children join the tour?

    We accept tour reservations from 1 person up to a group of 9. Children are welcome to join the tours, so please include them in your reservation count.

  • Can I visit only the gift shop?

    The gift shop is available to all guests.

  • Are the distillery tours free?

    Distillery tours are free of charge. We also have exclusive seminars for a fee.

  • Can I take photos or videos during the tour?

    You are free to take photographs except in certain areas (*). However, video recording and audio recording are not permitted.
    *Photography is also prohibited in the central control room and gift shop.

  • Can I bring a stroller on the tour?
    Can I take the tour in a wheelchair?

    Yes. However we do not recommend visiting during winter season due to snow which may result in accidents.

  • Can I take multiple tours on the same day?

    The tour is limited to once a day per person.

  • Do you offer tours in English?

    The guided tours are conducted only in Japanese. However, English pamphlets and a multilingual translation system is accessible via smartphones.

  • Can deaf people take the tour?

    Tours are available. As there are matters we need to confirm and inform you about in advance, please contact us by email.

About Reservations

  • Do I need a reservation for a distillery tour?
    Can I take a tour without a reservation?
    Can I make a same-day reservation?

    Please make reservations in advance. If there is an availability on the day, we can accommodate you to a open spot . In such cases, we accept visitors on a first-come, first-served basis at the reception desk (same-day phone reservations are not accepted).
    Facilities that can be viewed without reservation are the Visitor Center, Storage Warehouse, and Guest Hall (Shop & Paid Tasting Bar).
    However, we cannot accept groups of 10 or more people for reservations or visits (including self-guided tours) during weekends and on holidays.

  • Can groups take tours?

    For groups of 10 or more people, please call the distillery by phone before visiting. Please note that reservations are required even for just visiting. However, we cannot accept groups of 10 or more people for reservations or visits (including self-guided tours) during weekends and on holidays.

  • What is the reservation window?

    Reservations open on the 15th of each month for the following month.
    Example: May 15 opening → accepting reservations for June 1-30

  • What should I do to change the number of people or cancel?
    Until when can I cancel?

    Changes and cancellations can be made online until 12:00 noon the day before. We also accept cancellations by phone. For same-day changes or cancellations, please contact us by phone.

  • How do I change or cancel an internet reservation?

    Changes can be made using the reservation change/cancellation button at the top of the reservation page. Please follow the screen instructions to make changes.
    You will need the "reservation number" and "password" provided on the reservation completion screen and in the confirmation email.
    If you don't know your "reservation number" and "password," we can help you by phone.

  • What are your phone reception hours?

    9:00 to 16:00

  • Is there a waiting list?

    We do not have on the day waitlist. Availability due to cancellations will be updated on the reservation calendars.

About Visiting

  • When are you closed?

    We are open throughout the year except for New Year holidays and equipment inspection days. For details, please check the distillery's website or contact the distillery directly.

  • Is parking available?
    Is bicycle parking available?

    Yes. Please check the "How to Visit" page of the distillery for details.
    Please note that those who are driving vehicles, bicycles, those under 20 years old, and pregnant or nursing mothers cannot sample alcoholic beverages. Soft drinks are available.

  • Is there a shuttle bus?

    A shuttle bus operates between JR Senzan Line Sakunami Station and the distillery only on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Please check here for the timetable.

  • Is there a place to store luggage?

    We provide free lockers.
    However, the number of lockers is limited, so please ask the receptionist if all lockers are in use.

  • Is there a smoking area?

    The entire premises is non-smoking.

  • Can I bring pets?

    As this is a production facility, we ask you to refrain from bringing food items for hygiene reasons. However, this does not apply to assistance dogs.

  • Can I bring lunch boxes or snacks?

    As this is a production facility, we ask you to refrain from bringing food items for hygiene reasons.

  • Are there dining facilities?

    There are no dining facilities within or near the distillery.

  • Do you sell Nikka-produced alcohol and distillery-exclusive products in the shop?
    Can I call to check on product availability for the day?

    The gift shop sells major spirits produced by Nikka and several distillery-exclusive products. However, due to limited production quantities and irregular delivery schedules, some items may be out of stock. We apologize that we cannot provide information about stock availability.

  • Do you have rental umbrellas?

    Unfortunately we do not have umbrellas available for rent. Umbrellas are available for purchase at reception.
